The dates of the holy of Amarnath Yatra 2018 starting dates have been announced. The Amarnath Yatra will begin from 28th June, 2018. Online registrations of the Yatra have start from 1st March, 2018. The helicopter service booking has been started from 27th April, 2018.

The Amarnath Yatra commences from Pahalgam and Baltal. The distance of Amarnath shrine is 45 km from Pahalgam and around 141 km from Srinagar.

Things to take care during Amarnath Yatra:


The Amarnath cave is located at a height of 3,888 m. Hence the temperature is usually lower than the normal temperature at the bottom. Hence, the devotees are advised to carry woollen clothes, sweaters and jackets.

Essential commodities are available at fair prices by the government and private shops. However, the devotees are advised to carry biscuits, tinned foods, first-aid kits and essential medicines. Medical assistance is usually available at free-of-cost.

Before commencing for the Amarnath Yatra it is compulsory for the Yatri to submit the compulsory health certificate.

One should also get covered by the insurance scheme offered by Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) in case of accident; since there are extreme weathers at times.

It is necessary for the Yatris to be disciplined and obey complete instructions of the Yatri officer for a smooth and optimum experience of the Yatra.
